What you will do

1. Design and develop middleware solutions that consume APIs and transform data for Modern Campus products;
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Middleware and Product teams, to ensure integration accuracy and efficiency;
3. Work with various databases (Oracle, MS SQL, NoSQL) and API technologies (RESTful, SOAP, XML, JSON);
4. Ensure data transformation using technologies like Apache Camel and XSL translations;
5. Write automated tests using tools like Junit to maintain code quality;
6. Maintain technical documentation and communicate effectively with peers and stakeholders.

Must haves

1. Diploma or degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field OR equivalent software development experience;
2. 8+ years of professional software development experience;
3. Strong proficiency in Java/Groovy and Apache Camel with a focus on API development;
4. Experience working with APIs to transform and exchange data between systems;
5. Familiarity with technical tools such as Jira, Git, SVN, and similar tools;
6. Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and a drive to deliver high-quality solutions;

Nice to haves

1. Exposure to SIS systems such as Banner, Colleague, or PeopleSoft;
2. Experience with higher education ERP solutions;
3. Knowledge of additional technologies: DynamoDB, XML, and JSON transformations;
4. Familiarity with middleware-specific tools and frameworks;
5. Strong communication skills for collaboration and innovation.
