Backed by prominent supporters such as NeetCode, Z Fellows, LeapYear, and the CEO of Wellfound, Rounds is shaping the future of AI-driven hiring.Role Description This is a full-time role for an AI Engineer where you will: Build and improve AI systems that generate and evaluate real-world interview simulations Design evaluation frameworks that measure reasoning, tradeoffs, and decision-making Work with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) to create reliable, high-signal outputs Identify failure modes in AI behavior and improve system robustness Collaborate closely with product and founders to define what "good" looks like in hiring Ship quickly and iterate based on real usageQualifications Strong software engineering fundamentals (ability to build end-to-end systems) Experience working with LLMs in production environments Ability to critically evaluate AI outputs and identify weaknesses Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments Strong product intuition and attention to detailNice to have: Experience with LLM evaluation, benchmarking, or prompt systems Background in developer tools, infrastructure, or systems design Experience building 0→1 products
