About the role

Maintain and evolve Fraud Deflect’s data stack: reliable pipelines, strong data models, and stable production operations on Linux. Focus is improving what exists, not rewriting everything.

Responsibilities

• Own data architecture and data modeling for core datasets.
• Maintain and improve existing pipelines (stability, backfills, performance, data quality).
• Build/operate Airflow workflows (SLAs, retries, alerting, idempotency).
• Write and optimize SQL in MySQL (schemas, migrations, indexing, query tuning).
• Develop pipeline/tooling code in Python.
• Operate and debug on Linux (services/jobs, logs, incidents, automation).
• Work within the current stack (Airflow, AWS, MySQL; ClickHouse is a plus).
• Add basic observability; dashboards/visuals are a plus.
• Communicate clearly; apply strong analytical thinking and problem-solving.

Required

• Strong MySQL/SQL (mandatory).
• Airflow in production.
• AWS experience.
• Python proficiency.
• Comfortable maintaining systems on Linux.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.

Nice to have

• Observability/visualization (metrics, dashboards, alerting).
• Prior Clickhouse experience.
